K9 Shadow Recounts His Winning Performance

I guess it wasn’t all fun and games. I really thought we were just playing, but Corporal Josh says it’s a much bigger deal than that. He says I won first place (whatever that means) in the “Keyless Entry” contest. Who knew it was a contest? I kinda got the idea something was up when Sheriff Hill called my name and all the cameras came out.
For the last 3 years, we’ve gone to a really big playground with a lot of dirt and a lot of other dogs like me. We take turns playing games. Corporal Josh points out the suspect, and I LISTEN. I run my fastest. I jump my highest. And I sniff my best. It’s the same thing I do every day, but this was different. I heard I won what Corporal Josh calls a “first place trophy”. It’s nice, but it doesn’t smell very appealing or taste good at all.
Once the cameras all got put away, the crowds of people left, and I got a lot of AWESOME belly rubs, I just pranced on back to work like I normally do with Corporal Josh.
I hope to see you all next year for the 4th Annual Shawnee County Sheriff’s K9 games.
