Sesquicentennial Point is a scenic gathering space overlooking Clinton Lake and the Wakarusa Valley. The site commemorates the 150th anniversary of Lawrence's founding and offers opportunities to explore local history while enjoying the surrounding landscape.
A paved plaza at the top of the hill overlooks the valley. Stone walls, native grasses, and a series of half-circle terraces lead down the hillside to a time capsule pool. The site's Walk Through Time uses stone elements to represent milestones in Lawrence's 150-year history.
