K9 Mack

Meet K9 Mack.  In the high-stakes world of law enforcement, few K9’s command as much immediate respect as Mack.  Weighing in at more than 90 pounds, K9 Mack can be quite intimidating.  Many Belgian Malinois are nearly half his size.  Mack isn’t interested in a typical canine life.  He loves his work and is very good at it.  As dual-purpose powerhouse, Mack specializes in narcotic detection and patrols the streets, just like the rest of his human counterparts.

It makes sense that Mack is partnered with his handler, Kevin Henderson, an award-winning Corporal, who judges and trains K9’s throughout the state and is responsible for implementing the K9 Unit at LKPD more than a decade ago.

Mack’s focus is unbreakable, especially when it comes to ensuring dangerous narcotics are removed from the streets of Lawrence.  When he begins a sweep, his demeanor shifts from a stoic patroller to a high-speed sniffer who won’t stop until the job is done.

If you meet Mack on the street, he loves a kind “good-boy”, but will likely return it with a skeptical glance, then continue on with what really matters: Keeping Lawrence streets safe and secure.
