Plant a tree. Create a lasting tribute.

The Memorial Tree Program provides an opportunity to honor or remember a special person, celebrate an event or accomplishment, and help beautify Lawrence’s parks and public spaces.

Give a Living Memorial

$500 per tree

Your $500 donation provides a shade tree that will be planted in a Lawrence public park or open space and cared for by Lawrence Parks, Recreation and Culture.

Memorial trees offer a lasting way to create a meaningful connection to the community while contributing to the beauty and shade of Lawrence’s public spaces.

Your donation supports:

  • A new shade tree in a public park or open space
  • Planting and care by Lawrence Parks, Recreation and Culture
  • Continued beautification of Lawrence’s parks and public spaces

Other Ways to Give

Donations are also accepted for the department’s Tree Replacement Program, which collectively funds the replacement of trees in Lawrence parks and public spaces.
